This class is designed to give Preps a lunchtime activity to assist them with life skills through the guise of Drama games.
Perfect for children new to performing arts, students will be gently guided through storytelling and performance techniques using improvisation, role play, playmaking, puppetry and more.
In addition to creating their own work, students will also experience the occasional performance by their teacher in the form of puppetry, mask work and animated book readings. This will help model performance for our youngest creatives who might not have been to the theatre yet and will also assist them with learning theatre etiquette and terminology in a fun and relaxed environment.
Prep's DramaRama is a great stepping stone, before they join the Dance and Drama All-stars from Grade 1, where end of term showcases will take place and the classes will be more performance focussed rather than play based.
Mel's approach is very nurturing and celebratory of all the achievements. Whether it's performing in a group, or stepping up on stage for the first time. There will be numerous milestones and creative goals achieved throughout each term. Mel's experience as a teacher means that she is regularly taking anecdotal notes regarding student growth, which can be discussed with parents on a regular basis.
Class numbers are limited and fill up quickly, so early bird registration is highly recommended.
